RACE TWO

LETTUCEROLL (7) comes up with the tough gate but finds a winnable contest where quite a few of his opponents are in search of form improvements. Taking them all the way here 3 starts back for an easy victory, he could not last after working hard last start when parked. He can turn it around.

SHEREACTS (9) has some ordinary numbers beside her name, but they may not tell the true tale of her efforts in recent outings. Eased from gate 6 last start, she was too far back when trying to offer and the start prior was in better company than this when not too far away. She can challenge.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (4) has been taken to Redcliffe in 4 of his 5 starts since resuming from a spell, the latest when not suited off the 2nd line. With early speed, he can be an improver on the pace.

SWEET SANGRIA (2) settled in the pack from the 2nd line last start before hitting the line in nice order for the silver. This is harder but settling handy she can chime in for a minor.

SELECTIONS: LETTUCEROLL (7), SHEREACTS (9), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (4), SWEET SANGRIA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LETTUCEROLL (7) to win

RACE THREE

CALL ME DIVA (1)
was beaten by gate 7 last time out when retreating early and then unable to make ground over the closing stages as SOHO CASABLANCA dictated in front. Chasing hard behind GOING FOR GOLD here 2 starts back, she can be tucked away and then take the snipers shot in the stretch.

TEE JAY CEE (2) was a Redcliffe winner 2 starts back when sent to the front from gate 1 and once in control was never in danger when claiming a smart win. Beaten by the 2nd line last start but still picking off some late metres for the bronze, he can fire the early bullets and be gripping on.

SHE OWNS THE DAY (4) tackled a handy mare’s line-up last start when sent to the post as fav from the 2nd line. Unable to go with them when the sprint went on, she can be sharper in this grade.

TROPICAL STORM (6) hit the line in nice order here 2 starts back when attacking from back in the pack after retreating from gate 7. This looks more suitable than his last start in qualifying grade.

SELECTIONS: CALL ME DIVA (1), TEE JAY CEE (2), SHE OWNS THE DAY (4), TROPICAL STORM (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CALL ME DIVA (1) to win

RACE FOUR

A good battle looming here where a pair of 2YO’s tackling the older horses look set to dominate. SOHO CASABLANCA (1) took on and defeated the older horses here last week when taking control from this same gate and cruising home to a 4m victory. Fitter again after 2 runs back from a spell, he can look for the repeat.

BETTING ORIGIN (2) lines up shooting for the hat-trick after a maiden breaking win here when leading throughout over the mile was followed with a front-running win over the 1780m at Redcliffe. Where he positions will be key to his challenging chances.

SHEZ GOT BLING (8) should secure the ideal trip here either leaders back or 3 poles and from either position looms as a minor chance. Not too far away last start, she will be probing.

KAY NORA SHANNON (9) will get an early look here and can drop to the inside if on offer or stay in the running line. Finding the line in nice order last start, she can be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: SOHO CASABLANCA (1), BETTING ORIGIN (2), SHEZ GOT BLING (8), KAY NORA SHANNON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-9

RACE FIVE

SHADOW MINISTER (3) was sent forward from a wide gate over the mile here 2 starts back and once in control had the power to keep them chasing when claiming a 4m victory. Circling early from the 2nd line last start before receiving cover, the run was game behind CAPTAIN NEMO, and this looks within reach.

BANGKOK BRAVADO (9) sat in the pocket trail last start when angled to the passing lane to make a closing play when 3rd to JEWEL OF PEAK. All 3 runs since resuming from a spell have had merit, with a pair of placings recorded and back with Shane Fraser for career start 100, should get the run to challenge.

SPEAK WITH SAM (6) completed a hat-trick of victories last start, the last 2 since arriving in Qld. Making full advantage of gate 1 to lead throughout on all 3 occasions, the gate will ask a few questions.

BETTATHANIDEAL (5) will take good benefit from his latest appearance when resuming from a break and eased from a wide gate to close out soundly at Redcliffe. He can be working home late here.

SELECTIONS: SHADOW MINISTER (3), BANGKOK BRAVADO (9), SPEAK WITH SAM (6), BETTATHANIDEAL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SHADOW MINISTER (3) to win

RACE SIX

BARIKA (3)
fired off the arm to set the speed in a strong mares race last time out and trying to see it out could not repel ROCKINDOWNUNDER. Gunned down at her past 3 starts in succession when setting the speed, she held on 4 starts back and from this alley will be trying to fight them off again.

AKARANA PRINCE (6) makes his Qld debut for Narissa McMullen and will face the starter for the first time since March. Given 2 starts in South Australia after arriving from NZ, he heads to the Sunshine State where he blew the cobwebs out with an easy trial victory. The gate stings but he stays under watch.

MAJOR MISCHIEF (2) was a gritty Redcliffe winner 4 starts back when sitting parked and grafting out the victory. Trying to take them all the way from gate 7 here last start and beaten in the last stride, he is in the mix.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (9) was a winner here 5 starts back when finishing over the top of them at the mile. Not much has gone his way the past 3 starts, but these conditions give him the chance to feature.

SELECTIONS: BARIKA (3), AKARANA PRINCE (6), MAJOR MISCHIEF (2), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BARIKA (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

BELLA BALL TERROR (4)
was shooting for a hat-trick of victories when lining up in a strong qualifier claimed by the flying DEUS EX. His run was full of merit in that battle and was followed with a luckless 2nd after being buried from inside the 2nd line. With even luck he can capitalise.

THE ROCKNROLL KING (2) should appreciate the tight gate after his past 9 starts have seen him start no closer than gate 7. Closing out from gate 10 in nice style for the silver last start behind the dictating winner SPEAK WITH SAM, it followed a smart win at the 2138m. He can throw it down.

HERBS HERO (8) made the most of conditions to lead throughout from gate 2 at the mile 2 starts back and followed that with a passing lane 2nd to CAPTAIN NEMO. Likely buried here, he will be probing.

HENRY HU (9) was grinding it out when parked 2 starts back when holding on for the bronze behind HERBS HERO. Eased to the pegs from gate 5 last start and picking off some late metres, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: BELLA BALL TERROR (4), THE ROCKNROLL KING (2), HERBS HERO (8), HENRY HU (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BELLA BALL TERROR (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

This is an absolute cracking contest to close the card with some skilled and in-form performers set to do battle over the flying mile. KIWIS ARE FLYING (5) has a lone defeat here in Qld, that coming at the hooves of the excitement machine DEUS EX when finishing 2nd. It is a sticky gate, but he has the class to continue his rise.

FIRST STRING (1) is much better suited when near the speed and should appreciate an improved gate after a string of wide barriers. Closing out in nice order to grab the silver behind MAJOR FERNCO last start, his run 2 back was solid after striking trouble and still only 5m from KEAYANG MARVEN. The gate is a huge benefit.

CAPTAIN NEMO (2) completed a hat-trick of victories last start with all 3 wins coming when starting from the 2nd line. Sent around to sit parked and prove too gritty last start, the improved gate puts him right in the mix.

FOND MEMORIES (9) shoots for a hat-trick of wins after claiming victory at the 2138m and then the mile last start. Powering over the top in the closing stages last time to claim a half-neck margin over VIRGIL, she can trail through to feature.

SELECTIONS: KIWIS ARE FLYING (5), FIRST STRING (1), CAPTAIN NEMO (2), FOND MEMORIES (9)
SUGGESTED BET: KIWIS ARE FLYING (5) to win
