Kick of Thunder  Bumped heavily shortly after the start. Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of the horse. Of concern to stewards was Ms R. Payne's riding of that filly rounding the home turn and in the home straight. After taking evidence from apprentice R. Payne stewards adjourned the inquiry to allow Miss R. Payne to be represented and to also allow trainer T. Crane to attend. A post race vet exam failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Sakitto  Rider questioned re performance reported his intention was to settle in the second half of the field behind SUPERFAST SAKI however, COURT'S STAR improved to his inside in the early stages which forced him to settle further back in the field than anticipated. Rider added that he was able to shift wider in an effort to improve passing the 600m however, the filly was only travelling fairly and failed to finish the race off as expected. Rider and stable expressed disappointment but unable to offer any explanation. Vetted - no abnormalities and swab sample taken.  Gold Coast  9/05/2015

Obsessions  Shifted in and bumped another runner on jumping. Ran wide rounding the home turn. A post race vet exam, which was beaten 24.6L, revealed it had lost its off fore plate in running and to be mildly lame in that leg. Questioned, trainer stated that in addition to losing a plate during the event he did not feel that the gelding appreciated the quick back up today. He added that he would freshen the gelding up prior to its next race start. He was advised that a warning would be placed on the competitiveness of the gelding and that it requires a vet cert of fitness prior to its next race start.   Lismore  19/10/2015

Jazzy Ruler  When questioned re the performance, rider Ms T Harrison explained from the wide barrier she was obliged to ride with vigour in the early stages to avoid being caught wide without cover. Ms T Harrison said her mount travelled well in the early and middle stages, however inside the final 200m compounded in its efforts to the line. Ms T Harrison added in her opinion the filly was unable to sustain a finishing efforts due to having to work forward in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Kentaur  A pre race veterinary examination of the gelding, which was returning today from a 12 month spell, cleared the horse to start.

Majestic Sound  When questioned as to the tactics adopted, Jockey A Spinks stated he was instructed not to restrain the gelding as it had shown a tendency to over-race when restrained in its previous races. Jockey Spinks stated that as a result he allowed the gelding to stride forward in the early stages to obtain the lead and that passing the 600m it was inclined to hang out and continued to do so until after straightening which allowed LITTLE LONG HORN to improve to his inside. World Series  Shortly after straightening was buffeted when crowded between I'm Adamant, which laid in slightly and when bumped was turned inwards and
Pryendi, which was eased and carried out by Daneares (C Small), which shifted out under riding. Shortly after World Series was restrained to avoid the heels of Daneares, which continued to shift out.

Ricochet Tobey  - A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which weakened in the home straight and finished last, found it to be in a distressed state and making an abnormal respiratory noise.
