Ahrens stated the mare has been sluggishly away from inside barriers at its last couple of starts, whereas today the mare jumped cleanly from a wide barrier and travelled up on the speed due to the step up from the 1000m to the 1200m of todayys event. He added that he feels the mare may have appreciated racing wide without horses around her and was surprised after having such a wide run the mare was still able to finish the race off as she did.
