When questioned regarding the tactics adopted and in respect to the gelding settling further back today as compared to its recent race starts, rider advised that from his wide draw he was instructed attempt to obtain a mid-field position however was unable to obtain cover and his mount was subsequently obliged to race three-wide throughout. Co-trainer confirmed the instructions and was reminded of his obligation to notify any change of tactics to the Stewards.

When questioned regarding the performance, rider advised that his mount travelled comfortably in the lead throughout the middle stages but was under pressure from the 600m and proved disappointing in the straight. A post-race vet exam of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Co-trainer expressed disappointment with the gelding’s performance and undertook to report back on a veterinary check of the gelding in the days subsequent.
