When questioned regarding her mounts somewhat disappointing performance today Apprentice said after beginning well and travelling comfortably, when the mare rounded the back turn near the 600 metres it commenced to race very greenly and did so for the remainder of the event. Apprentice suggested the addition of blinkers to the mare’s gear may derive a significant benefit.
