When quest re the performance, apprentice stated that from the 800m she elected to allow the gelding to stride forward in an attempt to improve into the race. She stated that the gelding failed to respond to her riding and, when placed under pressure in the straight, laid in and weakened noticeably. She added that, as the gelding was not responding to her riding and continued to lay in, she elected not to fully ride her mount out to the finish. She added the gelding may not have appreciated todays track conditions.
