He said that in addition, he believed did not see out the 1900m journey & was also not suited by today's heavy track conditions. Post race vet exam revealed no abs. Trn since reported was satisfied with post-race cond of mare & would drop mare back to 1600m & freshened up prior to next start.

When quest re improved perf. tnr advised that last start the geld began awkwardly & settled three wide without cover worse than m/field. Tnr added geld hung out rounding h/turn & its rider did not place it under pressure down straight as he felt something was amiss. Tnr advised a vet exam of geld after that event revealed its heart rate to be low indicating minimal exertion. Tnr stated geld was able to lead on the fence and dictate terms today which it appreciates.

As trainer B. Currie was not in attendance at the race meeting, stewards will interview both him and apprentice R. Goldsbury in coming days regarding instructions and tactics adopted.
