when questioned, rider G. Ryan his instructions were to ride his mount with cover. He added his mount began well and led the race early however speed was shown from runners to his outside, so bearing in mind his instructions he allowed those runners to cross and lead the race. He added consequently his mount settled slightly further back than he had intended. Trainer added that in her opinion Hammoon Boy is also better suited on softer tracks; a post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.
