KARAKABEEL then travelled behind the leader, however after straightening at not stage in the straight did a full run present between FASTER THAN LIGHT and TAMBO’S HEART and as a result KARAKABEEL travelled the entire length of the straight without being fully tested.

Guthmann-Chester stated that despite riding vigorously in the early stages, the gelding was unable to muster early speed and whilst the horse raced tractably, was only doing its best work over the concluding stages. He added he had advised connections that the horse would be better served racing over more distance.
