Masuda the rider of DRILL was issued with a reprimand and advised to show greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Saga Miss  Inquiry re performance after trailing the field throughout. Rider stated the filly resented being struck by clods when racing back in the field on the rain-affected surface, and following this would not stretch out. Trainer P. Gunsmoke  Trainer P. Campbell advised that the gelding will be ridden further back in the field than at its most recent starts if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

Chicago  Questioned re: performance - rider stated after begining only fairly rode mare along in effort to obtain forward position however, failed to muster speed and forced to settle further back than expected. Travelled well during early and middle stages and when placed under pressure passing 500m responded well and finished the race off strongly. Rider was of the view that mare is unable to sit and sprint strongly and as such was not suited when forced to race back in the field.  Lismore  4/09/2015

I'm Alone  Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination. When questioned as to the disappointing performance, Trainer B Guy stated that the gelding has performed best when able to race in a forward position. Mr Guy added that after beginning awkwardly the gelding was then slow to muster speed and attributed this to the disappointing performance today.  Gold Coast  19/09/2015

The Lynches  Began awkwardly. Compounded in the home straight. When asked to explain the performance, which was below market expectations, jockey G. Colless explained that he was asked to be positive on the horse today, which after beginning well was able to lead, however once leaving the 600m the horse was under pressure and then commenced to compound in the home straight and was most disappointing. Tnr was at a loss to explain the poor performance. Vetted, no abnormalities. Must trial to stewards' satisfaction.  Ipswich  4/09/2015

In the Moment (NZ)  Rider reported mare did not begin well which resulted in it settling further back than anticipated. Then hung out throughout the race and was concerned there may be something amiss with the mare's action over concluding stages. Post race vet failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Seymour  19/08/2015 
Lead Husson  Questioned re: performance - rider state intention to obtain forward position however, shortly after start when it was apparent there would be a strong tempo she elected to settle just worse than midfield. Horse then travelled comfortably in early and middle stages but responded only fairly when urged along leaving 800m and was one paced in the run to the line. In rider's opinion filly failed to run out the distance under the top wieght of 59kg. Post race vet failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Lismore  6/06/2015

Roubaix  When questioned regarding the horse's performance, apprentice B. Derbyshire stated that as she was going to be trapped three wide shortly after the start and unable to clear runners to her inside, she elected to ease and race behind those horses, however after shifting wider in the straight and asking the gelding to improve, the horse failed to let down as expected and in her opinion was disappointing. Trainer B. Andrew stated that he felt the gap between runs and today's heavy track may have had a bearing on the horse's overall performance. Stewards noted the explanations.  Gatton  18/09/2015
