Chophouse Tears  Change tactics - lead. Settled handy, improved outside leader 1200m. Bumped at start, race fiercly early. Questioned re tactics - rider stated urged along passing 1000m, in accordance with instrutions to obtain unasailable lead. Commenced to compound badly passing 800m. Post race vet, slow recovery rate. Trainer confirmed instructions, added mare untested at distance, failed to run out trip in heavy conditions. Jockey advised tactics unreasonable given racing manners early. Trainer indicated mare will now be placed over shorter distances. Warning placed on uncompetiveness.  Lismore  7/05/2016

Cushy Number  Trainer questioned re tactics - stated that bearing in mind early speed of race his intention was to have the gelding settle in a handy position. Added after beginning on terms with the field it appeared as if the gelding was going to obtain its intended position until HESITATION shifted off the fence leaving 900m, resulting in CUSHY NUMBER settling further back in field than anticipated.   Gold Coast  21/05/2016 
Eight Below  When questioned regarding her tactics, particularly in the home straight when it appeared she had secured a run to the outside of STEAL A DIAMOND and then elected to go back inside runners at that time, apprentice B. Grylls stated that in her opinion the horse was not entirely comfortable on what she described as a softer surface out wide and as such she elected to shift back inwards where she felt was the better going, and when she did this the filly then finished the race off nicely. Expat Envy  When asked to comment on the horse's performance, jockey D. Griffin explained that with the pace that was set early, his mount never travelled comfortably on the bit and, further, he felt with the rail being out 10 metres, the horse was not comfortable on today's racing surface. He added that he advised trainer M. Lakey that in his opinion the horse would be better suited on a bigger track and over a longer distance that that of today's event. Stewards noted his explanation. Trainer agreed with rider's assessment and said he would step the horse up over further ground at its next start.  Ipswich  3/06/2016
