A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer B. Smith was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next start. |

When afforded the opportunity to comment on the disappointing performance. Jockey T. Harrison stated that after beginning awkwardly from a wide barrier she was obliged to push forward in the early stages in an attempt to obtain a position closer to the rail however, when runners to her inside had improved she was forced to race in a 3 wide position throughout, which she felt was a major contributing factor to the filly's disappointing finishing efforts. A post race vet exam revealed no abnormalities. |

Questioned re Performance - rider stated overraced throughout, passing 1000m allowed to stride forward to lead due to slow tempo. Countined to over-race and refused to settle, as a resulted failed to respond when placed under pressure upon straightening and weakend in run to the line. Won most recent start where tempo was genuine and able to settle comfortably worse then midfield. Post race vet - lame near fore. Trainer agreed with rider and stated mare now be placed over shorter distances after being sent for a spell. |

Questioned as to tactics - rider stated intention to obtain handy position. Early stages tried to restrain to obtain cover in one out one back position however horse outside leader continued to restrain preventing him from obtaining cover behind that runner. Therefore elected to stirde forward to eventually settle outside leader. Trainer stated horse had been notoriously slow to begin and with blinkers off today began better than expected resulting in it racing further forward than anticipated. Best suited when ridden with cover. |
