Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running from approaching the 500m until approaching the 200m where he was then disappointed for a narrow run between ZOUMAN and HE’S A FIGHTER. Passing the 200m shifted out to obtain clear running. Approaching the 100m was eased and taken in slightly by STAFFO (A. McColm) which had shifted in when laying in. Near the 50m raced in restricted room between STAFFO, which when laying in, shifted in and ZOUMAN (Rider W. O’Connell) which had shifted out under riding and was steadied.

Rdr stated the only possible excuse he could offer was mount was worked up prior to event and this may have told on finishing effort. Tnr stated colt raced flat & he would freshen up, and experiment with race gear, PTNS. P/R vet no ab's.
