A post-race veterinary examination of the mare, which was slow to begin and failed to stretch out, despite the efforts of its rider, did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer was at a loss to epxlain the poor performance other than to say that the girth may have pinched the mare and prevented it from stretching out. She undertook to report to stewards if anything was amiss with the mare in the days following the race. |

When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of the filly, trainer explained that BONNIE BON BON resents racing in restricted room and this contributed to today's improved performance in that the filly was able to settle in a rearward position and was able to obtain clear running on the extreme outside of the field.
