When questioned, rider advised that due to the showery conditions and kickback, he was instructed to position his mount wider throughout to avoid the kickback. He nevertheless advised that his mount had race flat today. Trainer confirmed the instructions adding that the gelding can be field shy thereby further justifying those instructions. She added that given today’s performance the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
