Upon returning to scale Jockey reported his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage throughout the event due to the heavy track conditions. Approaching the 800 metres had to be restrained when awkwardly placed on heels. Jockey fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR137A for striking his mount on eight occasions prior to the 100m, three more times than permitted under the rule.
