Astradas  Began awkwardly. Passing the 800m commenced to hang out and as a result continued to do so for the remainder of the event. Post race veterinary
examination revealed that the mare had subsequently tied up. Stable
representative Mr T Edmonds was advised that a warning would be recorded on the racing record of the mare. Further the stable undertook to experiment with the mare's approved race day gear in an attempt to rectify the issue prior to its next start.

Moy Stari (NZ)  Rider questioned regarding his tactics in the early stages when it appeared he had opportunity to secure a position closer to the fence and rather than doing so he steadied and shifted around heels and rode aggressively before being positioned four wide without cover. Apprentice McGillivray indicated that he had been instructed to attempt to ride in a forward position and he felt that the horse would muster sufficient speed to take up a more forward position despite being steadied in the early stages. Siliqua  Fractious in the barriers, jumped awkwardly and lost significant ground (3 lengths). A warning was placed on the horse's manners.
