After being caught wide early and unable to restrain and find a position with cover jockey M. Cahill allowed his mount to stride forward to obtain a position closer to the rail and settle outside the leader passing the 1300m.

Rdr qd re ride from 700m, rdr expl mount had exp a good run during early stages & was travelling very strongly app the 700m. Said because of this intended to maintain cover for as long as possible to prevent geld being exposed too far from finish, when another rnr improved very quickly on outside at 700m, attempted to maneuver that runner wider, which mount resented and became unbalanced, said that on straightening pos mnt to outside of heels but was hampered. Then was forced to ease near 200m, when racing tight but having obtained clear running soon after, did not respond strongly.
