When quest re perf. rdr stated mount settled midfield however was shuffled back to rear of field when held up on heels b/n 500m & entrance to straight. Rdr stated on obtaining clear running on straightening the field had ted & his mount was unable to make any ground on them. Rdr mount does not sprint quickly & would have been better suited working into sprint from 500m. P/R vet exam found no ab's.

Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. When afforded the opportunity to comment on the disappointing performance, apprentice N. Keal explained that despite racing wide throughout he expected the gelding to finish off stronger than it did. He added that the only explanation he could put forward was that the gelding may not have appreciated backing up within a week from its last start. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate and showing signs of tying up.
