Delayed the start after being difficult to load. When questioned in regards to the tactics adopted today, rider D. Griffin stated that after being caught wide in the early stages and the lack of speed in the race, he elected to allow the gelding to improve forward and obtain the lead near the 1200m. Co-Trainer B. Guy confirmed those instructions to improve forward should he be caught wide as the horse had raced in this manner over the longer distances previously. Co-Trainer B. & D. Guy were advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings barrier manners.
