When questioned in relation to his riding from the 1000m rider explained that after getting into a handy position, he restrained his mount to attempt to find cover and as MIGHTY JUDD showed intent to lead, he allowed that gelding to improve around him. When quest re tactics, particularly between 600m & 400m, Rdr stated gelding gets back in its races, instructed to allow mount to travel comfortably & ride for luck-said after beginning slowly, allowed mount to settle towards rear-said after racing in a comfortable rhythm to 600m, elected to shift in, in preference to following eventual winner, which would have obliged to race extremely wide approaching h/turn-added on entrance to h/straight, gelding took time to build momentum before momentarily losing use of o/side iron approaching 100m, where again able to place mount under pressure.
