Crowded on jumping. Rider reported that the filly was a beaten horse from as far out as the 600m and for this reason he eased the filly down in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer reported that the filly would now be spelled but was nevertheless advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced prior to the filly trialing to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Has since satisfactorily trialled. |

When questioned regarding the gelding leading today, Jockey said that the gelding was stepping up in distance and he was instructed to take up a forward position if circumstance allowed, as the gelding has a tendency to miss the kick. He stated that after beginning particularly well and when there was no speed in the early stages, he allowed his mount to stride forward, where it assumed the lead comfortably. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued, however was reminded of his obligation to inform stewards of any change in tactics. |
