Stanley reported that as it was its first start in blinkers, the horse commenced to race keenly in the early stages, and then when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to respond. Trainer T. Button agreed with jockey Stanley’s comments, however also added that, in his opinion, THE STOCKBROKER horse would benefit from its run today.

Trainer advised it is now the intention to step the gelding up over distances longer than that of today’s race which he believes will prove more suitable. Nonetheless Trainer was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s competitiveness.
