Sugar Doll (NZ)  When questioned regarding the performance of Sugar Doll, S Clipperton stated that his mount which was on debut had sweated up prior to the event but nevertheless travelled well throughout the early and middle stages. He added however that Sugar Doll did not respond to his riding from the 500m and was disappointing in his view. A post-race veterinary examination of Sugar Doll did not

News Editor  Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for majority of event. Near the 500m had to be steadied from heels. Jockey J Taylor reported that it was his intention to take up a position closer to the speed, however, after being slow to begin he was then forced to race further back than anticipated. Jockey Taylor added that near the 1200m and again near the 500m he was hampered as a result of interference forward of him and that when afforded clear running in the home straight, the gelding finished the race off well.  Gold Coast  11/07/2015

No Magic Needed (NZ)  Bumped at the start. Stewards questioned apprentice C. Schmidt regarding the tactics adopted today whereby the horse led, which was in contrast to its last start where it settled back in the field. Apprentice Schmidt stated that with the addition of blinkers today on the horse, she was instructed to take up a forward position. She added that the gelding travelled strongly in the early stages and as a result she allowed it to stride forward and settle outside the leader.  Ipswich  10/07/2015
