After begining awkwardly and from wide barrier had to ride vigorously in early stages to comply with instructions. Pressure required in early stages had detrimental effect on overall performance. Noted filly trialled well when settling in forward position and would derive fitness benefit from run. Trainer confirmed instructions and would issue similar instructions in future when stepped up over further distance. Reminded of obligations to advise of change of tactics. |

Held up approaching home turn. Questioned tactics adopted - rider stated from awkward barrier content to obtain midfield position with cover bearing in mind strong tempo early stages. Rider added in early stages anticipated would be able to settle midfield position outside of FREEPORT, which he thought would cross to rail. However, when PUT YOUR HANDS UP improved to inside of FREEPORT he was going to be caught 3 wide so elected to restrain to get cover behind FREEPORT, which resulted in him racing further back in the field than anticipated. |
