Jockey McGuren added that the horse then travelled well before improving into the race passing the 600m. However, the horse blundered in the going rounding the home turn and was then inclined to lay in in the early stages of the home straight and as a result was reluctant to improve into a run to the outside of BOBBY BE GOOD leaving the 300m |

Stewards questioned apprentice M. McGillivray regarding the tactics adopted today which was to lead in the early stages when the horse has not previously led. He indicated pre-race the plan was to attempt to secure cover preferably in a midfield position, however after beginning well it became apparent he would be caught wide he then elected to ride forward to secure a position closer to the fence. He added that the horse was having its first start over 1600m and the mare raced keenly in the middle stages. Stewards accepted the explanation. |
