She's a Unit  Very fractious in the barriers and reared as the start was effected and jumped away awkwardly, losing significant ground. Trainer T. Thomas indicated that the horse would now be sent for a spell, and stewards advised Mr Thomas that the mare would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next start.

Princess Charm  Trainer B. Baldwin was afforded the opportunity to explain the improved performance. He said that at the horse's previous start from a good draw it gained a favourable position early, however was shuffled back in running to a rearward position before being shifted wider and finishing the race off nicely. He added prior to that the horse raced over a shorter distance and had previously shown disappointing performances on rain affected tracks. Mr Baldwin added with today's increase in distance and the horse dropping back in class the filly performed favourably as he expected.   Ipswich  13/01/2016 
Sweet Marcia  Slow into stride and dipped shortly after the start. Jockey D. Hayse reported his mount failed to muster speed and while he had anticipated being back in the field, took up a position worse than he had expected. He added that in the straight when placed under pressure his mount responded to his riding, and had recommended to connections the horse be stepped up in distance.   Mackay  8/01/2016

Be the Magic  Attempted to improve to the outside of the heels of TERIO TOOL after passing the 300m but was prevented from doing so by another runner holding its position. No Problem  Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run near the 200m between LANDALE and KING LUDWIG, which shifted in slightly, and had to be steadied and shift wider. Scrap Copper  Commenced to pull hard after leaving the 800m. Apprentice S. Eilbeck was questioned regarding the tactics she adopted after leaving the 600m. She stated that at that stage of the race the mare was travelling well and she elected to ease out to be ready to place pressure on the leaders on straightening, however her mount was then forced to race four wide. Apprentice Eilbeck agreed that she had erred by shifting out at a critical stage of the race near the 500m rather than staying in with cover.  Doomben  1/01/2016 
Spirit Minded  Connections advised that because of the wide barrier it would be the intention to have the horse ridden back in the field. Obliged to shift wider on the track after passing the 400m in order to avoid the heels of another runner.  Sunshine Coast  10/01/2016 
Stradam  Questioned re the performance, rider stated that his mount began well and established the lead quickly, added that his mount raced keenly in the early and middle stages and was under pressure from the 700m to maintain its position, also stated his mount failed to sprint in the straight and was disappointing. Trainer reported in the days subsequent that the mare had pulled up well and that he would add a tongue tie to its gear as he suspects it may have got its tongue behind the bit during the event.
