soon after making the 1300 metre turn commenced to hang out severely despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in HAVEN DUKE being severely checked. PARELEMA to continued to race ungenerously and took no competitive part in the event from that point onwards. A post race vet examination of PARELEMA revealed no abnormality and trainers representative for Mr M Hemmings was advised the gelding must trial on 2 (two) occasions before being permitted to start again
