Man of Business Was inclined to shift ground when placed under pressure down the running. Mount Garnet 05/05/2018
Aesop When questioned rider stated that he was instructed to be positive if possible in the early stages and take up a position just off the pace. He further stated that he did not elect to position behind other runners to obtain cover because the gelding typically resents kickback. Trainer confirmed the instructions and further advised that he had expected a forward showing after good recent performances but was at a loss to explain the gelding’s disappointing performance over the concluding stages. Trainer advised that the stable did support the gelding in todays’ event. Atherton 07/04/2018

In Kobe Jockey reported that the gelding which commenced to lose ground near the 900m was reluctant to stretch out from that point due to resenting the kickback in running. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Mount Garnet 04/05/2018

Tuscan Falls Jockey reported that the gelding was over-racing when having to be restrained from the heels of another runner near the 800m. Gordonvale 12/05/2018
Big Tomee Trainer advised Stewards the gelding was found to be suffering a hoof infection the day following the race and would be given a short ease up. Vet clearance required prior to next start. Atherton 07/04/2018
