Campus Bell Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping ALLOFIT. Raced in restricted room approaching the 800m and steadied when DADDY WARBUCKS shifted out slightly and ALLOFIT shifted in slightly. Jockey K.Gates reported that the mare may have resented the sand kickback when in a trialling position and may have knuckled behind. Race 4
Daunting Queen Bumped on jumping by MINOAN SPIRIT, which was taken in by FAB’S COWBOY. Stewards questioned apprentice I. Teh regarding the horse’s seemingly disappointing performance. Apprentice Tey stated that after being slow to begin the mare, in her opinion, resented the kickback whilst following the field and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary inspection found the mare had evidence of the sand kick back in its respiratory system resulting in a post-race cough. Bundaberg 30/06/2020
Ten Taubada's Raced wide throughout. Stewards questioned jockey L. McCoy regarding the horse’s disappointing performance. Jockey McCoy stated that her mount was under pressure from the 500m when runners to her outside improved and the gelding failed to respond to her riding for the remainder of the event. Hard Enough When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey/trainer C Rogers reported that the gelding may not have handled the 63kg as well as the wide barrier. She added that she felt HARD ENOUGH didn’t appreciate the pace of the race and although the horse felt comfortable throughout the event, it was a beaten horse when asked for an effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Jockey/trainer C Rogers would undertake to report back to the stewards of the condition of the gelding in the days subsequent. Luvyoulongtime Slow into stride. When questioned by Stewards regarding the tactics adopted over the concluding stages, Apprentice M. Kennedy advised that she was hesitant to take a narrow run to the inside of HAUTCLERE approaching the 100m as her mount was inclined to lay in across the heels of CHICAGO O’BRIEN at that point, and then again over the concluding stages the mare shifted in and away from HAUTCLERE which resulted in her being unable to fully test her mount in the run to the line.
