Bukekayo  Bumped leaving the 300m and again near the 150m. When questioned as to the performance, Jockey M Hellyer stated that despite travelling comfortably in the early and middle stages, the mare failed to quicken when placed under pressure upon straightening and in his opinion was disappointing. Jockey Hellyer was of the view that the mare may have come to the end of its current race preparation. Trainer C Anderson confirmed that the mare will now be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination.  Gold Coast  8/08/2015

Mazden Star  Improved performance, trainer stated that the gelding resented the tongue tie and he removed it from its gear today, added that at the start prior the gelding had been held up the majority of the straight, also stated that in his opinion the gelding appreciated the addition of blinkers today and a strong rider who was able to get it to begin well and settle in a more prominent position, added the gelding was further aided by having a run present rounding the home turn which enabled to improve into clear running without covering additional ground.  Ballina  13/10/2015

Majestic Sound  Rider questioned RE: tactics adopted, rider stated that she was instructed not to overly restrain the gelding as it often resented this tactic and overraced as a consequence. Rider added that for this reason passing the 1700m she was reluctant to restrain in an effort to maintain a trailing position. As a consequence, when taken wider at that point she allowed the gelding to stride forward resulting in racing three wide for the remainder of the race. Compounded from the 800m.
