Devillain Had to be eased when tightened for room near the 1000m. Had to be checked from heels when overracing near the 800m and then continued to overrace for some distance following this incident. Doomben 19/09/2018

Secret Lily As jockey R. Moloney was to be overweight, jockey M. Cahill was substituted as the rider of that horse. Jockey Moloney was fined $200. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, jockey M. Cahill indicated the horse travelled well in a favourable position behind the leader, however when he shifted out to improve passing the 500m the horse was immediately under pressure and was very disappointing in the run to the line. She's Welcome Raced three wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, J. Lloyd stated that the mare raced greenly and was inclined to lay out throughout and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Ipswich 14/09/2018

Play Now Shifted out when overracing approaching the 500m and made contact with HOLLYWOOD STAR before being steadied from heels. Held up from rounding the home turn until the 100m before obtaining clear running. When asked to comment on the performance, R. Goltz indicated that he would have liked to have been positioned closer to the lead, however, the horse was unable to muster early speed. He added that the step back in distance, in his opinion, affected the position in which he was able to settle and the horse also was inclined to lay out throughout the event. He felt that the horse would benefit fr Gatton 15/09/2018

Dark Element Overraced passing the 1300m, got its head up when being restrained and had to be steadied away from the heels of DAZET. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, jockey L. Rolls explained that the horse was fresh and overraced throughout the event and raced more forward than anticipated. When questioned regarding the horse’s overall finishing effort over the concluding stages, he said the gelding was disappointing and that the early effort may have told at the finish. Trainer B. Lockwood said that in light of today’s performance he would look to freshening up the gelding before resuming. Ipswich 28/03/2018

Yabulu Lad Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Laid out rounding the first turn. Approaching the 500m was steadied after improving onto the heels of a weakening runner and was unable to improve from this point until near the 400m. My Delilah When questioned as to the performance, Jockey A Allen stated that the mare raced keenly in the early and middle stages as a result of TIME TO PLAY which was inclined to lay in and in doing so bumped MY DELILAH on a number of occasions. Nonetheless, Jockey Allen was disappointed with the mare’s failure to finish off the race over the final 400m and in his opinion was disappointing. Trainer B Lockwood indicated that he would step the mare up in distance and attempt to have it ridden with cover. Gold Coast 15/09/2018
Wake Up Sailor Forced wider after passing the 400m and made the home turn extremely wide. When asked to comment on the below market performance, rider T. Marshall stated that the gelding travelled well to the 600m, however when shifted wider on the track at that point of the race failed to respond to his riding and, in his opinion, was disappointing. Katarina Apprentice M. Nakao was dislodged on leaving the enclosure. The horse was recaptured a short distance later. Upon arrival at the barriers the horse underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Proved difficult to load. A warning was placed on the mare’s barrier manners. Jumped away awkwardly. Improved on to heels approaching the 400m and shifted out, taking FLYPAST wider on the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Gatton 15/09/2018

Star Strucked Began awkwardly, resulting in the rider becoming unbalanced. When questioned by Stewards regarding the performance, rider stated that his mount travelled well when able to obtain the lead, which is its customary racing pattern, however when placed under pressure leaving the 600m the gelding failed to respond and proved disappointing. A post-race vet exam revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration, and to be lame, in the off fore leg. Dalby 01/09/2018
