Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When questioned by Stewards regarding the seemingly disappointing performance, jockey S. Galloway advised that after beginning well the mare was able to obtain a position one out one back, and travelled comfortably throughout, however when placed under pressure it failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. He went on to say that, in his opinion, the mare may not have been suited to the firm racing surface today. Stewards noted the explanation. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no apparent abnormalities.
