Rider M Philpot reported from that point CONLEY BELL resented the sand kickback and was uncompetitive for the remainder of the event and finished in last place to be beaten 98 lengths. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K Afford was advised CONLEY BELL must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
