A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 2/5 lame and to have been galloped on its near hind leg. Stable rep a vet cert is required prior to racing again.

He indicated that after working hard to obtain a position outside the lead the horse travelled comfortably, however failed to respond to his riding and was very disappointing in the home straight. He felt that the horse handled the rain-affected conditions, however he was disappointed in the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Lloyd reported that he noticed when he left the enclosure the saddle was further forward than normal. He said that when he arrived at the barriers the horse was being fractious, and rather than have the gear adjusted and risk it not being able to be refitted, he elected not to have the filly resaddled.

He added that it did not feel comfortable in its action when placed under pressure in the home straight. He further added that his instructions were to lead as the gelding performs best when able to lead comfortably and dictate terms. Trainer T Sears will be questioned at a later date. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
