Underwent a veterinary examination after QRIC IIT officers reported to stewards that the horse was found to have a haematoma on the nearside of its neck. The gelding was cleared to start. Trainer M. Webb provided evidence that the horse had had blood tests performed approximately 10 days ago and this was the cause of the haematoma. The veterinary surgeon provided further evidence which supported the evidence of trainer Mark Webb and no further action was taken.

Dwelt as the start was effected and lost ground. Jockey E. Ljung reported that her mount began only fairly and travelled comfortably throughout the run, however when placed under pressure from the 500m the mare ran on only fairly. Trainer K. Kemp advised that, in his opinion, the mare may have failed to run out the 1640m of this race, and he will now consider dropping the horse back in distance for its future starts.
