When qst re riding in early stgs, rdr std instructed to lead & after beginning well rode mnt aggressively to cross rnrs in early stgs. Std when inside rnrs held their positions near 1300m, he again rode aggressively to take position closer to rail, but near 1200m when leader held its position he commenced to restrain mnt. Tnr confirmed instructions to lead with option to settle behind lead if pace was too fast. After considering evidence of tnr & rdr, Stwds adv rdr he erred by continuing to challenge for lead inside the 1300m, however deemed his actions reasonable in the circumstances.
