Rdr: stated that his mount settled midfield on the rail & he shifted off the rail in search of clear running approaching the home turn. Rdr stated that rounding the home turn he became held up on the heels of runner & when no clear run has presented by the 300m he directed his mount inwards in an effort to improve into running available inside runner. Rdr stated whilst doing so runner commenced to shift in & closed that running & his mount became held up until near 100m where shifted out into clear running.

Obliged to take hold to avoid the heels of SUN ‘N’ SURF, which shifted in approaching the 900m. Jockey L. Cassidy, rider of SUN ‘N’ SURF, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131 in that he allowed his mount to shift in approaching the 900m when not clear and as a result of ACEME, resulting in jockey D. Griffin having to take hold of that horse and shift out across heels. Jockey Cassidy was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 11 July and to expire at midnight, 19 July.
