When questioned regarding the disappointing performance rider stated the gelding travelled keenly with him in the early stages and was reluctant to settle to obtain a position just behind the leaders. He added this forced him to travel in a position outside the lead. Rdr added from the 600m his mount was disappointing in the manner in which it finished the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Rider R Maloney was questioned regarding the tactic adopted, he stated that after beginning well he believed he would have had to significantly steady the horse in order to settle further back in the field. He added that the horse laid out from the 800m and was disappointing in the run to the line. A post race veterinary examination of gelding did not identify any abnormal findings.
