Apprentice J Lloyd stated that after being slow to begin he was placed further back than he had anticipated. He stated that rounding the home turn he was hoping to get a run to the inside of RED STINA which resulted in him having difficulty obtaining clear running until a point near the 150m. App Lloyd further added that in hindsight he would have been better to have attempted a run to the outside of RED STINA approaching and rounding the home turn which would have afforded him clear running.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider stated that his mount travelled well until he had to place it under pressure near the 600m where he felt the action of the mare change and it didn’t feel comfortable, he added that his mount weakened inside the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer expressed disappointment with today’s performance. Trnr will undertake to report back post-race recovery of the mare and immediate racing plans.
