Tilley stated that the gelding began well and travelled comfortably in the lead until the 400m, however, weakened considerably from that point. Trainer Ms R. Smith’s representative, Mr R. Smith, advised stewards that the gelding had been in work for a considerable time and the stable would now consider spelling the horse. Stewards will contact Ms Smith in coming days regarding the horse’s post-race recovery. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
