Jockey Cahill stated that the mare had been restless in the barriers and was tardy to begin and he had been instructed to ride her back off the pace as she has a tendency to overrace if ridden forward. Trainer D. Murphy confirmed the instructions.

Slow to begin. Apprentice M. Murphy, rider of MISS BENETEAU, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that he failed to stop riding when shifting in, which caused tightening to WHO DUNNIT, which was taken in on to ARAKAIN, which in turn was taken in onto SANGUINE RED, tightening the running of ARAKAIN, causing ARAKAIN to be steadied and SANGUINE RED to be checked. Apprentice Murphy was suspended from riding in races for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight, 28 October, up to and including 9 November.
