Old Trieste Rider questioned re performance - noted gelding lost ground at start after suffering interference, following which it failed to handle the heavy track conditions. Race 2
Vital Love Jockey R. Fradd was asked to comment on the performance of the filly. Of particular concern was when the horse appeared to lose ground during the middle stages, when passing the 800m and again after the 600m. He indicated that VITAL LOVE was, in his opinion, somewhat field shy, and shifted in when leaving the 800m, bumping the rail, and after other runners improved to the filly’s outside she laid in and away from those runners, bumping the running rail on a number of occasions. He added that he was obliged to pressure the horse at these points of the event in an attempt to hold its posit Sunshine Coast 15/07/2017

Swiss Love Mr B. Gordon, representative for trainer B. Laming, was questioned regarding the horse’s seemingly improved performance today as compared to its most recent starts. Mr Gordon explained that the horse was second up today and at its previous start it was obliged to race wide and hung out in the home straight, which placed its rider at a disadvantage. He added that the filly had blinkers, a lugging bit and bubble cheeker on the nearside today, which in his view was advantageous to its performance. He added that SWISS LOVE was well ridden today when able to lead and dictate the tempo of the race. Ipswich 22/12/2017

Moss Go Now Trainer questioned re improved performance compared to recent start at Toowoomba 7/10/2017 - explained gelding made a long sustained run on that occasion and as a result weakened over final stages. Added confident today of a forward showing and was ridden well being saved for one final run from 400m. Gold Coast 21/10/2017

One More Two More When questioned re perf, Rdr stated mare travelled satisfactorily during middle stages, but didn't respond to pressure from 700m , over final 300m elected to ease down as felt something may have been amiss. A post race vet distressed and high heart rate. Trainer advised mare failed to handle heavy track, may have come to end of prep. Trainer advised stewards mare would be spelled. Manila Miss Heavily bumped on jumping away. Passing the 1000m had a tendency to lay in and away from PONYTALES and became awkward at the heels of LOLAS DIAMOND and momentarily had to be steadied. Henry's Affair Stewards questioned apprentice N. Keal regarding his riding of the horse, particularly in the early stages where it appeared the gelding lost touch with the remainder of the field. Apprentice Keal indicated he had been instructed to allow the horse to settle in the early stages because it has not raced favourably when ridden aggressively in the early stages. Those instructions were confirmed by trainer T. Thomas. After viewing the patrol footage with stewards, apprentice Keal stated in hindsight when the horse commenced to lose ground from the 800m he had been slow to react in placing fur Sunshine Coast 14/01/2018

Captain the World The start was delayed when this horse became fractious in the barriers. After being removed from the barriers was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Bumped on jumping away. Rider A.
