Telford After arriving on course the gelding was kicked by another horse in the vicinity of the tie-up stalls, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Raced wide throughout. Rider M. Gray reported that the horse hung out throughout the event and as a consequence the bit shifted leaving the 700m, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Hakwa After beginning only fairly, the filly was restrained towards the rear on the rail to obtain cover and then when the pace steadied passing the 1100m, commenced to over-race and got its head up on a number of occasions when being restrained from heels. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Gold Coast 12/05/2018
Lacey Lynx Pack Overraced approaching the first turn and near the 800m. Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Rdr obliged to ride hands & heels over final 50m when another runner shifted out to mounts side. Protest lodged - dismissed. Coffs Harbour 11/05/2018

Brains After being caught wide in the early stages, the gelding was restrained by its rider near the 1400m to a position closer to the running rail and, as a result, settled further back in the field than anticipated. Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Toowoomba 02/05/2018
Cruz de Vega Near the 1000m was steadied after pulling its way up onto heels. Murwillumbah 07/05/2018

Race 3
Lady McCabe Laid in after passing the 400m, despite the efforts of its rider, tightening MISHANI VALENTINO, and then continued to lay in for the remainder of the event. Hung in over the final 100m. L. Dittman reported that his saddle shifted after passing the 700m. Ipswich 05/05/2018
Parko Blundered at start, shifted in and bumped another runner becoming unbalanced. Overraced early and middle stages. Raced greenly in home straight. Gold Coast 09/05/2018

Pumps Began awkwardly. Gold Coast 09/05/2018
Gemelli Trainer advised horse would be ridden with cover today if circumstances permit - ridden accordingly. Bumped on a number of occasions by JULIANNES WISH passing 1100m. Overraced when being restrained early and middle stages. Passing 600m checked away from heels of EXPERT REPLY. Trainer advised gelding had been galloped on its near hind leg. Ipswich 18/04/2018
Patsys Lass M. Cahill dropped his whip at the 400m. M. Cahill was asked to comment on the positioning of the horse and its performance. He indicated that he would have liked to have been positioned closer to the lead, however despite riding aggressively in the early stages he was crossed by other runners quite early in the event and was obliged to settle in the second half of the field. He added that he would have liked to improve from the 600m, however was unable to do so. Sunshine Coast 13/05/2018

Honour'n'strength A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Trainer M Leitch subsequently advised the gelding was found to be lame in the near hind leg due to a stifle injury. The gelding has since been treated accordingly. Ballina 10/04/2018
Mr Strachan Jockey R. Wiggins could offer no tangible explanation for today’s disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings. Trainer S. Kendrick advised stewards that the gelding would now be sent for a spell. Sunshine Coast 05/01/2018
Chase the Wind Slow to begin, and was hampered shortly after the start. Improved onto heels near the 150m and was forced to shift wider on the track to secure clear running. Steadied from the heels of ROSIE POSIE near the 50m when that runner shifted in under pressure. Toowoomba 07/04/2018

Prince Manitou Raced greenly throughout the event. Jockey Spinks reported that the horse was very field shy from the 700m and laid in badly from that point, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Exotic Sequel As the gelding had not raced for 4 years, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly. Ipswich 05/05/2018
Friends Eased from heels near 150m. When quest re perf. rdr stated mount travelled well in forward posn in early & middle stages however did not respond to pressure on straightening and weakened noticeably to finish line. P/R vet exam revealed filly to have cardiac arrhythmia. To trial PTNS and vet cert including ECG required prior to trial. Grafton 16/04/2018
Zinzi When questioned as to the seemingly improved performance, co-trainer B Rodgers stated that the filly did not appreciate the small circumference of Beaudesert at its last start when first up from a lengthy spell. Mr Rodgers noted that the filly won a 2 year old metropolitan race earlier in its career and added that it was not the stable’s intention for the filly to lead today, however, the rider was obliged to press forward in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the fence. Bodega Negra Overraced approaching the first turn. Near the 1000m was steadied and shifted out after improving onto heels. Raced three wide without cover from this point. Murwillumbah 07/05/2018
Exocet Slow to begin. Held up on straightening until near 250m. Doomben 12/05/2018

The Amateur Raced 3 wide during the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the lead passing the 700m. Slightly inconvenienced passing the 100m. Gold Coast 12/05/2018
Sheza Lily Slow to begin. Held up rounding home turn and in early stages of home straight. Gold Coast 05/05/2018
All Troops Bumped on jumping away. Over-raced during the middle stages and at a point passing the 600m had to be steadied away from heels. Gold Coast 12/05/2018
Eat My Trust Slow to begin. When quest app stated mount settled back and pulled to 1000m wher he checked mount & shifted 3 wide after improving onto heels. App stated mount continued to pull 3 wide w/out cover t/out middle stages. App stated he worked into event from 600m & mount just ground to line. App stated mounts racing manners early were to its detriment over latter stages. Tnr agreed with app sentiments & advised he would drop back in distance next start in hope it can settle behind a genuine tempo & finish race off. P/R vet exam found no ab's. Murwillumbah 07/05/2018

Wild Ava Bumped on jumping. Steadied after improving onto heels near the 600m. Unable to improve approaching and rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Shortly after straightening was obliged to ease in around heels to continue to improve. Coffs Harbour 27/04/2018

Takarakka Forced wider approaching the 800m. Then was steadied from heels near the 700m and remained 4 wide from that point onwards. Sunshine Coast 06/05/2018
