M. Cahill dropped his whip at the 400m. M. Cahill was asked to comment on the positioning of the horse and its performance. He indicated that he would have liked to have been positioned closer to the lead, however despite riding aggressively in the early stages he was crossed by other runners quite early in the event and was obliged to settle in the second half of the field. He added that he would have liked to improve from the 600m, however was unable to do so.

When questioned as to the seemingly improved performance, co-trainer B Rodgers stated that the filly did not appreciate the small circumference of Beaudesert at its last start when first up from a lengthy spell. Mr Rodgers noted that the filly won a 2 year old metropolitan race earlier in its career and added that it was not the stable’s intention for the filly to lead today, however, the rider was obliged to press forward in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the fence.
