Yoshida could offer no explanation for the performance of the gelding, which was below market expectation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be exhibiting a cough.

Laid out rounding the home turn and entrance to the straight. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rdr stated that his mount led the event and travelled keenly. Rdr stated his mount failed to respond strongly when asked to improve approaching the home turn and weakened noticeably over the final 200m. Rdr stated his mounts best form is over a shorter journey and in his opinion it can not run out the 1200m distance. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality.
