Hung out rounding the home turn, taking another runner wider. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners. R. Maloney was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty, stewards took into account that his mount was hanging out rounding the home turn and that jockey Maloney used the whip on a couple of occasions in an attempt to correct the horse and attempt it from hanging out further on the track.

Commenced to prove very difficult to settle near the 800m and raced up into an awkward position between SPUR WING and HOLUS BOLUS, which shifted inwards slightly. As a result, HEY DOLL made contact with HOLUS BOLUS and shortly after, when proving extremely difficult to settle, shifted in, making heavy contact with SPUR WING.
