Hill was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Hill undertook to report to stewards anything that may come to light in ensuing days which may have had an effect on the performance.

A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

When quest re leading the event tnr stated he inst his rider to be positive last start however mare began awkwardly & despite being ridden along could only settle midfield. Tnr stated today, with small field, he again advised rider to be positive early with intention of settling behind leader. Tnr stated he was surprised to see mare settle outside the leader and it was not the stables intention. Tnr reminded to notifiy any perceived change of tactics.

When questioned regarding her riding from the 600m, rdr stated that approaching the 600m she shifted her mount out, however, when another rnr became under heavy pressure and she felt that another rnr was travelling better, she elected to shift in and trail the rnr at that point. She said that on straightening she shifted her mount in in an endeavour to improve between two rnrs, however, when a rnr shifted out, she decided take the opening. However when a rnr shifted out, her mount was then held up and unable to be tested in the run to the finish.

Held up badly at the heels of a tiring runner for some distance passing the 400m before clipping the heels of that runner approaching the 300m and blundering. Held up and unable to improve for a considerable distance passing the 300m. As a result of these incidents, the filly lost considerable ground and was not pressured by its rider over the concluding stages of the race.
