Brooker advised that after beginning well she obtained the leading position, without having to overly pressure the gelding. She added that the gelding travelled reasonably throughout however, in her opinion, it was not suited by the tight turning track and may be better suited being ridden back in the field if circumstances permit. Stewards noted the explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rdr stated that his mount settled behind the leaders and travelled fairly, behind a moderate tempo, in the early and middle stages. Rdr added that when the leaders sprinted approaching the home turn his mount was unable to sprint strongly with them under a heavy weight impost on heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality.

She added that in the lead up to today’s event the gelding had worked well and had won a recent barrier trial at Beaudesert and she expected a forward showing today.
