Blundered at the start. Leaving the 1200m laid in despite the efforts of its rider and struck the running rail on two occasions near the 1000m. Jockey D. Griffin reported at scale that his mount laid in badly throughout the event and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities and a swab sample was taken. Co-Trainer Brian Guy indicated to Stewards that he would now consider removing the blinkers for its future starts. Stewards advised Mr Guy that the gelding would be required to officially trial prior to racing again.

Heinrich explained that the horse was slow to begin at its first start and then had a torrid run and failed to finish the race off and was subsequently sent for a spell and was gelded. She added that in the lead up to today’s event the gelding had worked well and had won a recent barrier trial at Beaudesert and she expected a forward showing today.
