Rdr stated after being held up app h/turn his mount, which was 1st up today, was unable to make any ground on leaders down straight under its heavy weight impost & he did not test it over final 200m when a beaten horse. P/R vet exam no ab's.

Stewards inquired into this incident and found that DACKARNA, after being steadied at the 750m, resented being restrained and was unable at that point to be controlled by its rider and shifted in causing the interference to ROZEIRA.

Bumped by another runner on jumping away. Stewards questioned M. Du Plessis regarding the tactics he adopted as the horse settled further back in the field than at its most recent start. He explained that he had been given no specific instructions, however, from the wide alley he had anticipated that the horse would begin well and he would hopefully be able to take up a forward position. He added that after being bumped in the early stages and horses racing to the inside showing early speed, he elected to restrain to obtain a position closer to the fence with cover.
